Project

ALERT

Multianalyte Digital Sensing with QR-code Microneedles for Minimally Invasive Early Diagnosis of Alzheimer

Aim

ALERT - an EIC PathFinder Open project funded by the EC - focuses on the early detection of Alzheimer’s disease through a minimally invasive approach, using biodegradable microneedles to access blood biomarkers directly through the skin and encode biochemical information into digital QR codes for rapid and reliable diagnosis.

Vision

ALERT envisions a future where early diagnosis becomes simple, accessible, and patient-friendly, transforming complex biological signals into clear digital information and enabling timely intervention long before clinical symptoms appear.

Impact

Beyond Alzheimer’s, ALERT introduces a disruptive platform for digital biosensing that can extend across medicine and beyond, enabling new applications in disease monitoring, environmental sensing, and food safety, and paving the way toward scalable, data-driven, and preventive healthcare systems.
